Company was founded in June 2012 to address growing concerns about violence in the Inner Harbor. Our goal is to make the Inner Harbor a safe, inclusive public space for local businesses, tourists, and Baltimoreans. The need for this initiative is dire as tensions rise to the detriment of local businesses and Baltimore’s reputation. Our method is to work directly with the community to identify points of tension, produce recommendations, and implement practical solutions that address the origin of the issue. Baltimore is the first American city to employ this method in its public, tourist center. Cities across the United States are struggling with local violence in their public spaces and the Inner Harbor Project proposes a unique solution.
